Characteristics:

A BRUShless DC motor is a rotating motor with a brush device that converts dc electrical energy to mechanical energy (a DC motor) or mechanical energy to direct electrical energy (a DC generator). Unlike brushless DC motors, brush devices are used to introduce or extract DC voltage and DC current. Dc brushless motor is the foundation of all motors, it has the characteristics of fast start, timely braking, speed regulating smoothly in a large range, relatively simple control circuit, etc.

The stator generates a stationary magnetic field.This stationary magnetic field surrounds the armature, or rotor. The external power source excites the armature magnetic field. This produces a rotating magnetic field attracted to the stator's stationary magnetic field. The speed of motor can be adjusted by changing the pulse width of PWM signal. The ratio between high and low pulse levels is called PWM signal duty ratio. The amplitude of the DC battery level is equal to the average amplitude of the PWM signal.
