1. Product Decription of PCD Blank
PCD Blank has different advantages such as high abrasive
resistance, low friction coefficient, high rigidity, high thermal
conductivity, low heat expansion coefficient, good strength and
stiffness.
Its hardness can reach up to 8000 HV, which is 80 to 120 times more than tungsten carbide.PCD has the thermal conductivity from 1.5 to 9 times higher than tungsten carbide. It is also than that of PCBN and copper. Its thermal conductivity approaches 700 W/mK. The PCD blank has a possibility to transfer heat fast.
The friction coefficient of PCD is smaller than that of tungsten
carbide. It is only 0.1~0.3 in regard to 0.4~1.0 that tungsten
carbide has . The PCD cutting tool has small cutting force.
The heat expansion coefficient of PCD is from 0.9×10-6 to 1.18×10-6 (one fifth that of tungsten carbide). Its cutting tool has a very
small thermal deformation and high processing accuracy.
The attraction between the PCD and the materials like nonferrous
metal and nonmetal materials, is very small. This results that the
cuttings won’t attach to the tool during processing.
