
Electronic 300 Series Broaching-Type Fasteners For PC boards And polycarbonate components
The non-threaded standoffs allow screws to be inserted through
multiple layered boards for stacked assemblies. All fasteners from
Polestar are identical to industry standards so that they can be
fed through standard automatic insertion equipment.
Description:
Broaching-type fasteners are designed for use on printed circuit boards and on most brittle or hard materials: such as, glass laminates, epoxy or resin with paper, nylon, or canvas bases. They are also used on materials too thin or unsuitable for threading, such as acrylic and polycarbonate panels.
Since the aforementioned materials do not flow under pressure, these fasteners are designed with a knurled shank that can be pressed into a drilled hole. The shank grips the board with an interference fit by broaching its way into the panel as it is squeezed into the holes.
Polestar broaching fasteners can be utilized with all types of PC boards, as well as with acrylic and polycarbonate components. They install simply, quickly, and permanently for secure and reliable attachment. Their use eliminates the need for washers, lock washers, nuts, and other excess hardware.
Our broaching fasteners includes broaching nuts with permanent
threads for board mounting or component attachment; threaded or
unthreaded standoffs for stacking or spacing and flare mounted
standoffs for greater pullout performance; threaded studs for use
as solderable connectors or as permanently mounted mechanical
fasteners with external threads; all-metal standoffs featuring a
spring action to hold a PC board securely without screws or
threaded hardware; self-expanding fasteners used in plated
thru-holes in multi-layer PC Boards; and one-piece board-mount
screw assemblies with captive screws for easy mounting and removal
of PC boards.
